RE: The request matter as the president of the Japan Society for Transplantation about the presentation by Dr.Makoto Mannnam at ASTS annual meeting in 2007.
Dear Dr.Matas:
This letter is submitted as the president of The Japan Society for Transplantation.
In the hospital which became a problem this time, the problem of internal-organs dealing arose first in the autumn last year.
Investigation of the police entered and the problem of a series of free kidney transplants came to light as a result.
He has not announced the contents of these incidents at any annual meeting of Japan.
Now, five investigating committees are investigating in form that six societies consisting with The Japan Society for Transplantation, Japanese Society for Clinical Renal Transplantation. The Japanese Urological Society. The Japanese Society for Pathology. Japanese Society of Nephrology and The Japanese Society for Dialysis Therapy dispatch a special committee.
At present, The last conclusion is not reached. The Ethics Committee is not established in some of hospitals to which such renal transplantation was given.
Informed Consent is not taken in written form in many case, either.
There are also many operations which there is a not clear point and the donor kidneys should not be rather taken.
Investigation will be completed at the end of March. and then I will report that result to you once again.
It is judged that this report is not appropriate as the paper of ASTS annual meeting.

この度のニュース、早速、新聞で大きく取り上げられていますが、上記の手紙を記者は知っていた筈なのに、こう↓いう記事にしています。
★ 《同論文は、同学会の今年５月に開催された総会で発表されることが一度決まったが、日本移植学会が「万波医師の病腎移植は倫理面で問題があり発表論文として適切でない」との意向を伝えたため、発表が取り消されていた。》
★ この記事は、正確ではありません。倫理面で問題が有ると言っただけじゃない。日本移植学会理事長は、要望書に、こう↓書いているのです。

★ 警察が介入したのは、ドナーの人たちで、その裁判は、前年12月に判決が出て、事件としては終わっています。
★ しかし、日本からの要望書の日付は、今年の《3月》です。なのに、如何にも、万波医師に警察の捜査が入ったように書いている。それは、米国移植外科学会を、脅し恐怖感を与え、発表を止めさせる為としか思えません。
★ 新聞は、なぜ、この《大嘘》を指摘しないのか。日本移植学会を擁護しなければならない《弱み》でも有るのでしょうか。主婦が気付くことを、当時、しっかり取材した新聞記者が、気付かないとは思えません。
★ free kidney transplants って,ナンのことやら判りませんが、兎に角、
万波医師は刑事事件とは無関係だった筈です。
その点を、指摘する新聞が現れるかどうか、みんなで見守ってゆきましょう。
