Mme. Akutagawa would like all of you to do the rehearsal of the stage walk on the day. Please come at 3:15PM ready in Kimono.
This is a very important event (in front of many audience), so, be prompt and ready.
1. We may not have enough time to have dinner,so, bring snack, if you wish.
2. Please do not forget to bring "TANZAKU" w/ approx. 14" string and your wish written.

Our heartfelt thanks to all members who participated in the “Big in Japan” event at the Hollywood Bowl on June 26th. The kimono show in the patio and the Tanabata decorations were very well received by the LA Philharmonic/Hollywood Bowl staff. They were also very happy to have us onstage for the encore.



We appreciate all your efforts which made this such a successful event. This was a good opportunity to reach out to a large audience and acquaint them with kimono. We hope everyone enjoyed the concert as well as the other festivities. We will let you know when we have photos available from Mr.Okada.

着物ショー開催のお知らせ

LA KIMONO CLUB の皆様へ
拝啓　京都は梅雨に入り紫陽花も少しずつ色づいております。
皆様におかれましてはますますご健勝のことと心よりお慶び申し上げます。

この度２年ぶりにアメリカで冨田が着物着付ショーを開催する運びとなりました。今回はアナハイムのバワーズ美術館で行われている『伊藤若冲＆プライスコレクション』のゲストとして着物ショーの開催の依頼が美術館より寄せられたことが始まりです。浮世絵の技法で作った着物や、飛び出す絵本のように浮世絵を着物で表した作品や、着物の生地で作った水着など今回のショーのために製作をした新たな作品を披露する予定です。また今回の新たな作品は世界初の試みのもが多いのが特徴です。
お手数ですがお申込み等はバワーズ美術館へ直接お願い致します。
皆様のご来場をお待ちしております。

未曾有の被害をもたらした東日本大震災。音楽を通じて何か出来ないかと、昨年までロサンゼルスのコルバーン音楽学校に在籍していたピアニスト・平田真希子さんが発案し、当地の日系音楽家の有志が賛同、復興支援チャリティーコンサートを4月9日に開催することになりました。出演者は、平田さんの他、グラミー賞受賞アルバムの参加アーティスト中村浩二さん（和太鼓）と松山夕貴子さん（琴）も参加して、著名音楽家が一堂に会します。
※コンサートの収益金は、在ロサンゼルス日本国総領事館を通じて、東日本大震災の義援金として全額寄付させていただきます。

Cherry Blossom Festival In Monterey

Everyone! On April 16, 2011 at Monterey Park, most of my classmates from Glendale Community College will be at the festival. My classmates are taking the language course Japanese 101 and all of them are coming to learn about the Japanese culture. I wanted to let the LA Kimono club members know this because most of the crowd will be filled with very youthful people and different people! :D I am very excited and I am looking forward to this Cherry Blossom event. I hope it does not get canceled!

・駐 車 場：パビリオン＃３は公園入り口から一番奥にあります。　左がわに白鳥・黒鳥・鴨、、、などが遊ぶ湖が見えてきます。　近くの駐車場か道路脇をご使用ください。駐車スペースが狭いので出来るだけ誘い合わせ、相乗りでおいでください

＊お花見の後、近くの日本庭園（水芳園）を散策したり、 同方面のレーガン記念館、サンフェルナンド・ミッショ　ン、ポウル・ゲッティ美術館等にお立ち寄りになる事も有意義ではないかと思います。
