The content of the play is expressed realistically the severe life, rule and convention in late Edo period (1850’s) which is the most familiar with Japanese, and the best point of message is to share the actual feeling ones which can be sadness, laugh and seeking wishes as theme of human love through the fictitious hero.
第1週目の英語上演においては英語を第一言語としている方々、そして第2 週目の日本語上演においては日本語を第一言語としている方々を対象とし て多種多様の文化を持つLOS ANGELESにて独特の日本文化や歴史、そ の当時の時代背景を舞台劇を通して表現することをモットーとしております。 舞台内容は日本人にとって時代劇を称するとすれば一番馴染み深い江戸 時代を背景とし、その当時の貧困生活、制度、しきたりなどを実際にあった かのごとく、架空のヒーローをモチーフに悲しみ、笑い、そして夢を追い続け る希望と人間愛をテーマとして追求し続ける様子を実感できる作品でありま す。
